Directors Corner

This is the second time I have directed a play at SWPH, and the second time that I have worked with a cast of more than twenty actors. While this dramatically adds to the confusion, the frustration, and the work, it also adds tremendously to the fun and the excitement, making for a memorable experience.

The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker is a delightful play, requiring a tremendous amount of energy and timing. The characters are rich, the scenes are funny and sometimes poignant. The cast has taken up the challenge, and have worked incredibly hard to bring it to life.

In addition, I have discovered once again that a production such as this one would not be possible without the gifts of time and talent so freely given in this theatre community. All the way people have been there, making sure that sets, costumes, make-up, and advertising were done, so our play would be ready on time.

As I write this, I realize that I don't want to miss my chance to say how much we have missed the presence of Gaylon Gathwright and Bob Leinau in our midst during this production. The Ghost-light burns.
